Ingredients

1½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

Prepare Your Workspace
Preheat your oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and ensures even browning on the bottom of your cookies.
      Cream Butter and Sugar
Beat softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about three minutes. This incorporates air, which creates a better texture in your finished cookies.
          Add Eggs and Vanilla
Mix in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until everything is smooth and well combined.
              Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. This ensures even distribution of the leavening agent throughout your dough.
                  Mix Everything Together
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Fold in the oats gently with a wooden spoon or spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
                      Shape and Bake
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for ten to twelve minutes until the edges are golden but centers still look slightly underdone. They'll continue cooking on the hot pan after you remove them from the oven.
                          Cool Properly
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack. This resting time allows them to set up perfectly without breaking.
