Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Get everything ready
  1. Take out all your ingredients first. Turn on the oven and let it heat to 375°F (190°C).
Combine dry ingredients
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar
  1. In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to beat the softened butter with the sugar until the mixture becomes light and creamy.
Add egg and flavor
  1. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, blending well.
Add dry mixture
  1. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Shape the cookies
  1. Form the dough into small balls (about the size of a walnut). Place them on a baking tray, leaving space between each one.
Bake
  1. Put the tray in the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, just until the edges start to turn light golden.
Let them cool
  1. Leave the cookies on the tray for a few minutes, then move them to a cooling rack until completely cool.
